Miners Falls

Miners Falls is located in the western portion of the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore.  The falls are located along the road leading to the more well known Miners Castle.  To reach Miners Falls take H13 about 3.5 miles north towards Miners Castle. There is a dirt road on the east side of the road that leads to falls. The dirt road is less than a mile and leads to a parking area from which you can start your hike to Miners Falls.  View our map below to see how to reach Miners Falls.

The Miners River drops about 50 feet over a sandstone ledge creating Miners Falls.  This beautiful drop can be viewed from a nearby lookout.  The hike to reach the lookout will take you approximately 20 minutes to a half hour.  The hike ends in a series of stairs leading up to the lookout.  From the parking area to the waterfall, the hike is a 1.2 mile round-trip.  Pets are not permitted on the trail to Miners Falls, but are allowed in the parking lot and picnic area.
